Wallpaper remover, Chomp or S&S?

obrionusaDecember 12, 2012

I'm removing some wallpaper from the 90's and need some techniques. I have a $50 wallpaper remover and some leftover diff. The last time I done this it seemed I had more problems with the wallpaper backing and glue than the vinyl itself.
Now I searched on here and found that chomp or safe and simple is a better remover solution.
If you were to buy on which would it be? I can get chomp shipped to my local store and save on shipping.
I also read to prime with Gardz.
Thanks!

603 is what you want
I don't think the 826 is even made anymore

We had a house (1985 build) full of wallpaper and we tried Diff and a few other commercial removers. When we had enough of the DIY effort and hired someone to finish the house, he used a mixture of water and fabric softener. (inexpensive fabric softener and warm water in a spray bottle) Wallpaper peeled right off the walls! Worth a try if you have any fabric softener in the house.
