Latex paint over spray primer?

brendainnjNovember 21, 2011

I want to update an old baseboard heater cover in the main bathroom. I'd like to use a scrubbable latex paint. However, to save some time I was going to use a spray primer (rustoleum, krylon). Will there be any problem using the latex over the spray? The latex is SW exterior Superpaint in gloss.

I also have Bin 123, just thought spraying would be quicker.

Thanks in advance.

Save yourself some trouble, slow down and use the 123. Make sure you clean well and get rid of any loose debris. Prime followed by two finish coats. Sometimes slowing down ends up saving time when you don't have to go back and do it over again.

Latex works well over any primer.

Thank you everyone, I may have to opt for the Bin123 anyway since it's too windy to paint outdoors--don't need leaf particles blowing into my wet paint!
