Touching up wall where paint peeled off

wi-sailorgirlNovember 16, 2010

OK, so I did something stupid. I taped around a window about 48 hours after we had our walls and ceilings professionally painted. Then I let the tape sit there for a good 18 hours before I RIPPED it off. Dumb and dumber on my part.

Anyway, the paint pretty much ripped right off in some place. Our painter is coming back to finish up some other projects and do some touching up, so I imagine he'll fix it for me (probably cursing at me under his breath the whole time), but I'd like to know how one goes about fixing this anyway. Since the paint is raised on the perimeter of where it ripped off, I'm wondering, would you sand this a little first?

Paint used was BM Regal Matte, in case that matters.

And yes, I've learned my lesson.

If there is a ridge, then you can sand it and if that doesn't work then it needs to be patched.
