Help with Island Color!!!

gdbanks5September 16, 2010

I am redoing my kitchen. I painted the walls BM Hazy Skies (light green/gray), and the cabinets BM Old Prairie (half strength) (off white with gray undertone). I am looking to paint the island an accent color...either green...like a green gray, blue gray or taupey gray. Any suggestions? I would like the island to stand out some but still retain a soft coordinating look with the rest of the kitchen.

Thanks!

I wonder about something like Nantucket Gray, which is greenish.

I would definitely want to see all three color samples in a variety of light before settling on one.

The other thing you could do, if you didn't mind 'wasting' the smallest version of it that Benjamin Moore could mix for you, is seeing what happens if you went 50% darker in either of your existing colors.

You could also take dregs of what you have from each and mix them 50% each and see what color that turns out to be! (I don't think this would work well, but you never know.)

Here is a link that might be useful: Nantucket Gray
