T1-11 siding painting questions

ikea_gwAugust 27, 2012

We are getting ready to paint the T1-11 siding on our house but I have a few questions maybe you can help me with. Thanks in advance.

We have a 60s house with strong mid century modern vibe. Roof is medium reddish brown and the brick is medium brown. Current siding is beige but we are painting the siding Sherwin Williams Gibraltar (cool neutral blue gray). We are not sure if the finish should be flat or satin.

Secondly, we need a white color for the trim. Should I go for a truly neutral white or something cooler or warmer?

Lastly, the painters have assured me no need to prime this as we are painting a dark color over light color to begin with. Just want to make sure they are correct.
