Paint colors kitchen and rest of house

I'm the middle of a kitchen remodel and struggling with all of the decisions and working with contractor! I need help choosing paint colors - I'd like a soft creamy yellow in the kitchen to complement the cherry cabinets and soapstone counters. I would love a subway tile back splash but not sure of the color yet. My challenge is that the kitchen opens to the dining room which opens to the rest of the house so that whatever color paint I choose for the main part of the house has to complement the kitchen. I like Alpaca from Benjamin Moore for the main areas of the house but don't know how to choose the right soft yellow to work with it. There is not a lot of wall space in the kitchen to paint but needs to work with the rest of the house. I'm open to all suggestions and want to keep the colors soft, calm and neutral. Thanks.

My friend is a real estate stager and her favorite Ben Moore yellow is "Hawthorne Yellow". She says everyone always likes it. Give it a try!

Also, you might have better response in the Home Decorating section. The "Paint" forum tends to be more on the technical side of things (Like oil vs. latex, etc.).
