Satin or semi-gloss for bath? Paint prep?

lydia1959June 20, 2013

Couple questions... is satin or semi-gloss better for a small master bathroom? I need something at least somewhat scrub-able. Also when we replaced the vanity top the top layer of old paint came off a little bit in certain areas, it also did that in spots when removing old wallpaper border. Should this be sanded down or what? We are having a professional painter paint for us... will he be able to roll over this without us doing anything to these areas and make it look good?

A top tier, excellent quality/grade satin would be my pick for your bath.

Pro painters do not just paint -- most of what they do is prep -- then paint. If he's a true pro craftsman, you should leave all the prep worries to him.

As fun said, let the painter do his job( mostly prep) and personally, I never recommend semi gloss for ANY wall

Thanks for the replies! I'll go with satin then and leave the walls to the painter.
