Painting inside of wooden garage door
I have a north-facing wooden garage door. The inside is currently unpainted, and the outside panels are alligatoring/chipping/peeling. I assume that is because of moisture trying to escape to the outside thru the thinner panels. (The chipping etc paint is not an issue on the rails and stiles.) is it a good idea to paint the interior side? Or could that lead to additional or different problems? I assume I should wait for a spell of lower humidity (I'm in the upper Midwest and summers are nasty!) and apply boiled linseed oil and oil-based primer before a color (white) coat. Thoughts appreciated!
