Need positive affirmations for teens

Kathy547October 27, 2008

I have 2 teen girls & 1 teen boy who will be making a Positive Affirmation Box. They will each decorate their box however they want. Printed on the box will be these instructions: Pull out 1 piece of paper/card each day or when you're feeling down. Repeat the positive statement out loud or to yourself several times throughout the day.

I need some positive statements I can put in the boxes to go along with the ones each teen will have written about themselves & the other teens.

I already have these:

I am a phenomenal person.

I am willing to learn something new everyday.

I am only as ugly as I allow myself to feel so I will feel beautiful.

I am a beautiful person, on the inside & on the outside.

I will take my mind off myself to focus on others.

Today I will try to make others happy before I make myself happy.

I will practice common curtisies (misspelled) - Saying "please" & "thank you". Telling people "good morning" or "good bye". Holding doors open for others.

I will smile at least 5 times a day. I will laugh at least 3 times a day.

I will tell at least 5 people "have a great/blessed day".

If it is to be, than it's up to me.

Does anyone have anymore I could use? I thought this would be a nice thing for them when they go off to college in a year or two, to look back on & if they needed a little cheering up pick something out of the box.

How about these...

I will not compare myself to others for each of us unique and beautiful in our own way.

I have been given special gifts and will spend my life discovering them.

I have been created with a special purpose in mind. Different from anyone else's.

I will forgive myself so that I can forgive others.

I will share my blessings with those less fortunate than myself.

I will dance like there's nobody watching.

When I need a break to replenish myself I will take it and not feel guilty.

Just a few that I can think of....and this is a neat idea by the way.

No one can make me feel inferior without my consent.

I will not let negative people bring me down.

Instead of saying "I can't" I'll say "I'll try".

I will appreciate the simple things, a clear blue sky, a beautiful flower, a soft rain; whatever the day brings.

This is a wonderful idea. I should do it for my preteen.
Good luck.

These are all great guys! Here's some more I've found (in case anyone else decides to do this). I'm thinking about doing this with the teens around Thanksgiving or Christmas.

"Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss it, you will land among the stars." Les Brown

"Today is the first day of the rest of your life." American Proverb

"Nothing is particularly hard if you divide it into small jobs." Henry Ford

"Listen to your dreams - those are the sounds no one else can hear." Kobi Yamada

"The only man who makes no mistakes is the man who never does anything." Eleanor Roosevelt

"Never let the fear of striking out get in your way." Babe Ruth

"No one knows what he can do until he tries."

"Be glad of life because it gives you the chance to love, & to work, & to play, & to look up at the stars." Henry Van Dyke

"If you are on a road to nowhere, find another road." Ashanti Proverb

"Give the world the best that you have, & the best will come back to you." Madeline Bridges

"The time is always right to do what is right." Martin Luther King

"Everyone has in them something precious that is in no one else." Martin Buber

"Do what you can, with what you have, where you are." Theodore Roosevelt

"Success doesn't come to you. You go to it." Marva Collins

"We are all capable of much more than we think we are." Lao Tzu

"Our greates glory consists not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." Ralph Waldo Emerson

"Put your heart, mind, intellect & soul even to your smallest acts. This is the secret of success." Swami Sivananda

"We are created by the choices we make every day." Bernie Siegel

"The race is not always to the swift, but to those who keep on running." Anonymous
