Paint color to use with a yellow-cream marble fireplace

dmborgMarch 30, 2011

Hi, I am painting my living room and am having trouble finding a color. The living has a yellow/cream marble fireplace. We just bought the house, and currently, the walls are yellow, but we really don't care for it. The trim is white and the carpet is a white cream. I have never seen a fireplace like this before and am having trouble even finding one online to get any ideas. I was thinking maybe a sage color...any thoughts?

Try this method:

Start by picking colors that look good with the fireplace, then from those, pick ones that look good with the carpet, then decide which one of them you want on the walls.
