mixing Aura sheens

cal_dreamerMarch 26, 2012

I have a few gallons of Aura paint colors that I decided not to use. From my daughter's house I have some that is too dark, and from mine, too light.

For fun I want to mix them together in different proportions to see if I can come up with something I like for a spare bedroom.

Unfortunately, I just realized that some of the paint is matte and some is eggshell. Can I mix them? The final sheen on the wall doesn't really matter, I'm just worried about separation or clumping or ???

Anyone mixed different sheens together before?

It should be fine as long as you mix it very well.

Thanks, I hate to waste it. We used Harmony at my daughter's house, then had it modified with a touch of green to make it less "fleshy" but then felt it was too dark.

I bought Battenberg for my living room, but it turned too weird yellow in the late afternoon.

Between the two colors, there's probably a nice neutral tan/beige for my back room - which is now a dark battleship blue/gray.

I'll mix it with a drill attachment when I get the proportions right.

Thanks Paintguy!
