Mixing satin and flat

sis46March 11, 2011

I have about half a gallon of Aura satin and half a gallon of Aura matte in the same color. Can I mix the two for a first coat, then follow it with a second coat of all matte? Or do I need to do both coats in matte only? (I'm just trying to keep from having to buy an extra gallon for that first coat.)

Interesting question. You could probably get away with it, but I would try in an inconspicuous spot first. You will need to put a full final coat on.
