Shur Line rollers

Has any one used this brand of roller? I needed an extension handle and this brand was recommended. Really liked the handle, its got a bigger diameter and soft cushioning but when I tried to take the roller cover off it wouldn't budge. My husband thought I had put the cover on wrong some how. We ended up putting the roller in a vise and cutting the cover off. When I put the new cover on I showed him how I was doing it and only had it partly on and tried to remove the cover. Couldn't do it, it was only going to go on not off. He says its cuz of the little tabs they have that fold over slightly and hold the cover on the roller. The only way we have figured out to get it off is to cut it off. Any body else have any experience? Peg

Wooster makes the best roller cage. Easy on, easy off, and much better roller covers.

The link is the right brand of roller but mine does not have the trigger to get the roller cover off. Got mine from the local hardware store. Maybe the problem is I'm just using roller covers that they had. Maybe you have to buy Shur Line roller covers. Well that's a problem, none in this neck of the woods!!

Have you tried tapping the roller frame over the edge of bucket or slop sink?

Like this?

Forcefully tap the curved part of the frame on the edge of the bucket to remove the roller.

No I didn't think to try tapping it. Didn't get any painting done today and working tomorrow so it'll be a while before I get back to it. Have to start painting the stair hallway next. Not looking forward to that but hopefully it'll go well.
