Best Maintenance sealer kitchen granite

luvpatch2February 22, 2013

I am needing opinons on the best maintenance sealer for my kitchen granite. I have had the countertops a little over a year and they are looking dull. A contractor told me to get a "maintenance" sealer ? He thought 3M made a good sealer but couldn't remember the name. Any suggestions?

It sounds like you have a buildup, the granite shouldn't look dull due to needing sealer (sealer is just to prevent things from penetrating and staining). Try using a microfiber cloth and hot water and rubbing it down really well to remove any cleaning product residue.

You may still need to re-seal but don't seal over top of cleaner buildup.

Our installer uses DuPont's BulletProof sealer. I'd recommend Tinan's suggestion first to see if that takes care of your issue.
