Spray painting cabinets

mimicJanuary 31, 2012

Hey all, I have a question. I am spray painting my kitchen cabinets with a very good sprayer and using cabinet coat, however I still get dust nibs in the paint. I am wetsanding them off but it leaves some marks from the wetsanding. My question is how do i remove those marks?

Do you recommend micro mesh sanding, automotive rubbing compound?

Thanks in advance

I would use 150 grit sandpaper. Why would you wet sand?

I'd talk to the manufacturer of the paint you are using and find out if there are any polishes or "rubbing" compounds that are compatible with the cured paint.... otherwise, the only way to solve your problem is tighter dust control in your spraying/drying area. Also make sure the filters in your sprayer are fine mesh and perfectly clean, and it wouldnt hurt to strain your paint before you start either.
