Ceiling color. Light or dark?

jacktyJanuary 24, 2011

Our dining room walls are divided by a chair rail. I'm painting below the chair rail a dark color (SW Manor House) and the top half of the room light (SW Wheat Grass). Crown molding, chair rail, and outer tray of ceiling are all white. So.... should I paint the inner tray of the ceiling with the dark color or the light color from the walls? I'm leaning toward the darker color, but I don't want the room to feel too segmented. Any opinions would be appreciated.

I'd need to see a pic to see what works in your space.

How tall are your ceilings? if they are 9ft and taller how about a shade or two darker than the wheat grass? Ot if they are shorter go a shade or 2 lighter
