I have some thresholds at exterior doors that need paint. I have never painted one before. What kind of paint will hold up best? I live in a humid environment.

Metal threshold?
Identify what kind of metal, buy appropriate primer. Clean thoroughly, prep as required by the primer (acid etch, etc.) then prime and paint.
Wood threshold?
Sand, clean, paint with alkyd porch & deck enamel, or if unpainted hardwood, varnish with exterior polyurethane.

Jeez, I thought that I wrote they are wood. I am sorry about that. They are painted now.
