low-e windows vs. dual pane

azjp099August 27, 2010

So, can I add to the confusion? I am looking at a 3 door patio entry way, and trying to decide between low-e glass and a dual pane with internal blinds. the low-e glass has a u-factor/solar heat gain coeffiency of .26/.17, while the clear glass has .33/.32. My unerstanding is below .30 is goodness. I live in AZ, where I am trying to keep the heat outside. I like the clean look of the internal blinds, but cant get low-e glass with them. thoughts?
