sink off center of window - what about a light?

dfzmomFebruary 4, 2011

In our new layout the sink is slightly off center by about 4" on the window (a casement window with a center panel). We are trying to pick a light for over the sink. I would like to do a pendant or something hanging to add some interest. The light would have to be centered on the window therefore it wouldn't be centered over the sink.

Do you think that would look strange? Should I just stick with a recessed light? The other lighting in the kitchen is recessed, undercabinet and one fixture over the table. I would love to see pictures if you have this setup.

Thanks so much for your opinions! dfzmom

I would center it on the window. You may want to do an off center faucet as well. Try mocking up the faucet and the fixture centered with the sink off center. This has to be an undermount sink without pre determined holes.

If you want the faucet to be centered on the sink I would do a recessed light centered over the sink.
