source for cedar fishscale siding

hello about to do a project on an old victorian home and was looking for a good source for cedar fishscale siding

that would be painted.thanks also has any one used the breathable tar paper material for better install of cedar

siding.any help would be appreciated

I would recommend obtaining shingles that are dipped in stain. This takes care of warping and future painting problems. If you stain after install, you are only getting 1/4 of the shingle covered (at best, 1/6 at worst).

The best supplier of white cedar shingles dipped in stain at the factory is Maibec. They make them in many shapes.
