Ridge Beam/ Stucco crumbling away

oneslipFebruary 15, 2008

I just noticed today that it looks like the roof ridge beam is pushing down on the stucco causing it to "bubble" out a bit and at one point a decent chunk of stucco has come loose and I can see the inner wood. I can fix the stucco but what is causing this. The house is close to 90 years old and on the other side of the roof it is fine but I can see there was some patch work on the stucco done in the same area but it looks fin. Any ideas or suggestions?

Nothing is forever, even diamonds, let alone stucco.
