Cement help around pool!

YorkiePooMamaFebruary 7, 2013

We put this stamped concrete around our pool and we don't like it at all. I was told (incorrectly now I think) that kool decking doesn't work here because it freezes a lot all winter.
We are in Eastern WA. So now I want to do something with the ugly stamped concrete. I was thinking about a quartz product but it's going to cost A LOT! More than we'd like to spend. Mainly because of all the prep work with the current stamped.
Does anyone know if cool decking is good in Eastern WA?
It already gets hot but it's not a big deal to us, really, since we go right from the shaded porch to the pool. Thanks for any suggestions.

I looked at the Mortex site, but it only says it withstands temperature variations...I'd ask them for details.

The other thing I noticed is this: it's going to look like stamped concrete from what I can tell, you just have more colors. I may be wrong, but since you already have stamped concrete, why go to the expense of replacing it with a similar product? Just stain it a different color.
