Have any of you used tortillas to make chicken and dumplings? If so is there a way the get them tender in a shorter time.

I have made chicken and dumplings with flour tortillas. I found that they got tender very quick. I tear them into pieces and put in the liquid when it's just short of boiling.

I like it better with the cheapest refrigerator biscuits rolled thin and sliced.
