How do I measure my steps for hand rails?

xcaretSeptember 21, 2006

I want to make some hand railings for my mother's outside steps and wondering if there are any tricks I could learn .I hear "rise and run" also "tread nose to tread nose" but not sure what it means ..Any help will be appreciated
