Iron Chandelier base?

flowerchild3August 11, 2005

I'm going to be learning stained glass this Fall and am getting ideas for projects. One of the things I'd really like to do is a chandelier made with iron and stained glass. Does anyone know where I can get iron supplies to use as bases for my stained glass creations? Are various wrought iron pieces welded together to make things? If so I can probaby weld them. I don't really know much about iron. But I'd love to learn whatever I can! Thanks for any help you can give me.

Correction, I accidentally wrote "welding" when I meant to write, "soldering." I will be learning how to solder, not weld.
