Inexpensive, light-duty chain hoist?

joel_bcApril 1, 2006

I'm in the market for a decently made but fairly inexpensive (hopefully under $100) chain hoist, mainly to lift loads of up to 300 lbs, but maybe occasionally twice that load (but no more). Needs to be multiple geared, but does not need to be lever-action. Need to hoist at least 10 ft (vertical). 12 foot lift would be even better.

I'm in Canada and would prefer not to deal with U.S.-Canada import duties & paperwork.

Any leads? Thanks.

You should be able to pick a one ton up at Princess Auto
or Canadian Tire for around $ 100
