Anvil make

woodsman13January 30, 2008

I just picked up an anvil yesterday. I'm trying to identify the maker if possible. There are no discernable makers mark, the sides are severely pitted. An experienced friend thought it may be a Hay Budden. I looked up info online, it has a plate top so it would have to be an earlier one. The only mark on my anvil is an inspection # mark ( a 6) under the left side of the horn. Other wise I can't make out any of the marks. I'm looking to use it not collect it but just curious what it's history is if I can figure it out. It's in the 100 to 150 pound range. I will include pictures on here when I figure out how.
