Anyone with experience w/OTC wild yam or progesterone cream
I need help. I bought both of these and now read they don't work. The wild yam is(capsules 500mg). My research shows there is no well done human studies that resulted in evidence that the estrogen like substance found in wild yam can be converted into human estrogen in the body, although some research shows it did help some women with menopausal symptoms. Conversion can be done in the lab by being chemically altered, but it's then sold as prescription form.
My OTC progesterone cream only contains 5mg per ounce and the jar is only 2 oz. The whole jar contains 10mg, vs PRESCRIPTION progesterone cream which contains 15 to 40 mg, usually applied twice daily. Doing the math, if I apply 1/2 tsp. to my skin twice daily, it seems I'm getting virtually no benefit. Plus progesterone cream is not as readily available to the body as pills.
Before I return these products, I'd love some feedback from anyone who has used these OTC products.
