daylight compact fluorescent = UVB?

fanniOctober 18, 2009

I bought a 4-pack of daylight compact fluorescent bulbs from Home Depot. Info on the packaging:

60 watt equivalent

800 light output in lumens

14 energy used in watts

10,000 life in hours

My question is: Are these bulbs also UVB-bulbs?

Daylight means the color temperature is near 5000K and has nothing to do with UV output.

If you want a bulb that emits UV, you have to buy a special one for the purpose, like a reptile lamp.
