Island Lighting Help!

MTG_NYCOctober 18, 2012

Hello - I'm ordering the Piper pendant (see attached) for my over-the-island lighting.

The pendant comes compatible with either xenon/halogen lights or LED lights.

I'm so confused about which one to go with - I've heard the xenon/halogen choice will make the granite counter look better and is a warmer and dimmable light but that it can get hot! The LED clearly has the opposite issues and is less expensive.

Which would you choose (and I'm not sure if it matters, but the island will be my work space and I'm 5'11 so if the xenon/halogen gets too hot, it might be uncomfortable to have them right above me).

Thanks!

How much light does the LED version produce in lumens? There are led bulbs (lamps) which will produce a color similar to halogen (full output).

Any heat you feel will be radiated.

Thanks - I just realized that it's only the mounting that has an option. The light itself is halogen, which kind of limits my options!
