Under cabinet LED lighting

jscozzSeptember 5, 2011

I am trying to decide on LED under cabinet lighting... my requirements are, dimmable, 2700 deg, low voltage with remote power supply.

From searching posts on here, I have found Environmental Lights and Kichler seem to have popular products.

Are there any other models that are worth considering?

It seems like the main issue with remote power supply LED fixtures is what kind of dimmer can be used for dimming. I use all UPB switches/dimmers in my home. I'd like to use a HAI or SimplyAutomated UPB dimmer to control the 120 side of the transformer to dim the LED lights. It is hard to tell from the manufacturers web site info whether these will work or not. I'd love to hear from people with any input on other models, or dimming/dimmers in general with these lights.

Another choice

Depending on the power supply used, you will have to use either a magnetic or electronic low voltage dimmer. A incandescent dimmer should never be used even if things appear to work.

I hope you find Jem's LED UCL DIY thread useful.
