lamp post?

hogan_njSeptember 13, 2011

I was thinking bout putting a lamp post in front of my house. My question is placement. I would like to put it on the left side of my driveway(same side as my house) but the corner of my driveway I have a huge sycamore tree and I think i would hit roots.

The other side just doesn't seem like it would tie into the house since its only about 5-6' wide then starts my neighbor's property. All of our landscaping is on the left side and seems like it would bring everything together.

The other thing to consider is the water and gas underground run across the left front side of property.

What do you think?

Rigid metal and intermediate metal conduit only require 6 inches of cover over the conduit.

This can help minimize tree root damage.

Other types may require up to 24 inches of cover.
