Recessed lighting cheap brands

jdblankSeptember 6, 2009

In most cases the mantra "you get what you pay for" holds true, but I have found some sites that sell 4" line voltage recessed lights with good looking trims for about 1/2 the cost of competitive and well known brands. I was wondering if anyone has experience going with something like this and has there been any problems?

They are UL approved.

I am from a Chinese sourcing agent. It's easy to explain the same lighting has different price sale in different channels.
Another reason is pirate version. Last year we serviced for a AsSeenOnTV buyer in developing a new product, The buyer invested a lot in this product. But some other factories buy a sample then just copy it, the cost is cheap.

Hope my explanation is reasonable
