Nexxuss LED Bulbs

kdeen10August 2, 2009

I bought the LR6's and I love them but they are not dmmable, as you all know, so I am considering replacing them with the Nexxuss Array P38. I have read that this bulb is compareable to the LR6 but dims 90% as opposed to the LR6's 75%.

Has anyone tried the Nexxuss bulbs.???

The LR6 bulbs are dimmable. If you use an electronic low voltage dimmer, you should get about a 90-95% dimming range for them. But I also wouldn't consider a 75% dimming range as not dimmable.

I saw a prototype of the Array (Nexxus) Par 30. I was really impressed. Although I don't see a Par 38 on their website.

But when it comes down to it, if you're using it in a recessed housing, I'd still stick with the LR6. The CRI on the LR6 is way higher (so colors being illuminated will look much more true. The Array is 80 and the LR6 is 91. On a scale of 0-100.
