foyer light fixture

kkohlbJuly 21, 2013

Hi, I need help! I like pendant, lantern -like fixtures. My foyer is 8.5' x 8' and is open to the family room with a 10 foot ceiling. If I get a 16" wide x 32" long fixture, it is just over the guidelines of 2.5 to 3" per foot of ceiling height. The chain length would only be 4" to hang it just below 7' at 6'8". How short can the chain be and still look OK? I can get a slightly shorter fixture, but what chain length ?
