IKEA spotlights, any experience or opinions?

raroJuly 19, 2011

IKEA has a super economical spotlight listed (365+ Sanda Spotlight - 4" diameter halogen spotlight, bulb included, built in transformer: White aluminum. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00149237). We need quite a few of these. It is either that or we go with a Juno track head and a monopoint mounting set up. I like the look of either. The IKEA price is $25 each whereas the Juno track heads alone are more than that not even including the costs of the transformer, mounting. The architect said that the IKEA price is too low for a quality light. Any thoughts or direct experiences here?

Have you considered either CFL or LED? Halogen lights will put out a lot of energy in the form of heat.
