Utility sink suggestions?

SeaKozOctober 22, 2012

Hi Folks,

I'm in the middle of a remodel and we forgot to spec a laundry sink so now I need to find one. My washer and dryer are along a wall of my finished basement, so I don't want the traditional plastic 4-legged utility sink. Instead, I want something that would blend in a bit more but I don't want to spend a whole lot on it. Anyone have any suggestions or photos of what they did?

Thanks!

You can buy inexpensive sink cabinets at your local Home Depot or Lowes. Put on a pre-made top and drop in a cheap kitchen sink. You could even put space between two cabinets, or a cleat up against a corner wall leaving the underneath open, and make a large folding area beside the sink area. Then (if you have the area) you wouldn't have to cut the pre-made top. You still will have to do a cutout for the actual sink. Then install an inexpensive pull out faucet.

Do you want a drop in sink? An inexpensive one I ran across is by Swanstone. I'm going with the small one due to space limitations. It's $70.00.
