I have a 4x8 walk-in pantry with 10' ceiling. Will this fixture provide enough light?
Here is a link that might be useful: pendant light
Strictly personal opinion -
I'd prefer two-two bulb flush or drop down fixtures, perhaps each 2 feet out from the short walls. That way you can experiment with bulb size ( maybe 30-40-50 watt equivalents x 4) to adjust to the lighting level you want. Having two light sources that are separated will give better light (if this is a pantry with shelves). I'd myself also prefer something with a frosted lens to soften the light. A foyer type light in such a small room strikes me as tacky. But everyone has different taste.
My pantry is about the same size, but 8 foot ceiling. I installed a 4 tube 4 foot fluorescent fixture, so about 7 times the amount of light you are contemplating. It isn't too much, although I could get by with half of that. I like to see what I'm about. Same in my laundry, same in a 6x8 walk-in closet. If the pantry didn't have a door, I would have considered something more decorative.
