what's your capacity? 4.3 or 4.6 or 5.0+

MardoOctober 20, 2012

I'm looking to buy new W&D. My 2001 Whirlpool Duets are approx. 3.7 f3 (washer) and 7.0 f3 (dryer). I want a larger washer capacity but is moving to 4.3 enough? Based on some sales right now in my area should I pay another $150 to go from 4.3 to 4.6...or another $400 to go from 4.3 to 5.0? What's really worth the money? I want increased capacity for the actual clothes washing area - not .3 capacity gained moving from a flat to a concave door area.

It's just my husband and I but I do daily laundry and need to be able to do loads of large bath towels, husband's endless supply of work jeans, king comforter a few times per year. What is an adequate size washer nowadays?
