House front wall sconce color and accessories?

nancitaJune 10, 2012

Hi all,

Our 1880 home is gray and everything else, except for the house numbers, is white. Mailbox, wall sconce, trim storm and interior door. Boring? Would black look better? The numbers are an old small brass.

Gray, white, and black is a classic. Black would certainly make the sconce pop out, but you probably want some other black accents too. What color is the door hardware? Can you paint the house numbers ore replace them with black?

You could add an accent color on the front door, too, maybe yellow, cobalt blue, or a deep red. Paint the storm door to match, if possible.
