Recessed LED Lights - Upcoming models

gardnrJune 21, 2010

We are remodeling our kitchen, and are just starting to work on the lighting. In talking with a salesman at our local lighting store, he advised we use recessed LEDs. He said a new model is due out very soon that is smaller in size than the current options while lighting a larger area. The user will also have options to change the direction/range of light and the coloring (in other words they are very flexible). According to him, this new model will allow me to use fewer lights since they will light a larger area, and be more flexible to meet all our overhead lighting needs.

Has anyone heard of this upcoming model (don't know the manufacturer)? And, is it worth waiting for? I had hoped to tackle the lighting sooner rather than later in this process, but maybe not!

Thanks for any insight.

I got the impression they were downlights, not lay-ins
