in cabinet lighting with solid shelves?
We are in the midst of a kitchen remodel and have several upper glass fronted cabinets. I was clear in my specifications to the kitchen designer that I wanted to do in-cabinet lighting on all of them. The contractor's electrician installed a puck light on the top of each cabinet - of course this lights up only the top shelf and is not right for a cabinet that's going to have solid shelves.
Now the contractor wants me to put in glass shelves, which I didn't want in the first place since I want to display solid objects in addition to glass. Now he is telling me that doing linear xenon lighting will cast shadows and that they are visible. Is that true? The cabinets are custom and if there is anything they didn't do to make this possible (which is what I'm afraid is the case) I'd like to ask for it to be done now.
I know plenty of people have these! How are in cabinet lights usually installed?
