Have you experience with these bulbs?

Hi,

For recessed lights in a kitchen, has anyone used GE 23w R-25 Genura CFL Reflector Bulb EL23/R25?

These are 3000k because it is a white kitchen (2700k is too yellow on my cabinets) and equal to about 1100 lumens, but are very expensive, about $32 each.

Rated Lifetime: 15,000 hours

They are R25 which makes them smaller than a R30 (5 - 8ths less).

Anyone seen or experienced these?

Thank you very much!

Bob

Other info from conservationmart about these bulbs:

This is admittedly an expensive light bulb, but it is a technological breakthrough, being one of the smallest, brightest, and longest life fluorescent reflectors available today. As a 23 watt R-25 reflector it is more compact than the 60 to 75 watt R-30 reflectors it typically replaces.

It has a rated life of 15,000 hours, which is 50% longer than other compact fluorescent reflectors. Unlike other compact fluorescent and incandescent light bulbs, the Genura will not suddenly burn out. It will simply slowly become less and less bright over time, lasting somewhere between 20,000 and 50,000 hours (though by 20,000 hours the light output be about half what it was when it was new). For track or downlights, particularly those that are hard to reach, there is no better choice than the Genura.

Initial Light Output: 1100 Lumens

Power Consumption: 23 watts

Dimensions: Width 3.1", Length 4.9"

Rated Lifetime: 15,000 hours

Color Temperature: 3000 degrees Kelvin

Color Rendering Index (CRI): 82

Start Temperature: 32 deg. F. (0 deg. C.)

Power Requirements: 120 Volts AC, 60 Hz

This compact fluorescent light should not be used outdoors where it would be exposed to the elements, in poorly ventilated fixtures, or on dimming circuits. Use only with photocells, motion detectors, and electronic timers that are suitable for use with compact fluorescent light bulbs.

Incidentally, these are equal to about a 100 watt incandescent light bulb, but use 23 watts, as you probably already know regarding cfls.
Thanks,
Bob
