Opinion on Socket Extender needed for Cree CR6

hehatemeApril 21, 2011

Hi:

I recently went through a tough install of Cree CR6.

There was no way to dislodge the receptacle where the light based needed to be screwed in.

I came to know about Socket extender that screws into the receptacle. I found a few different socket extenders at Amazon.com. Before I try to use it I was wondering if they are safe.

I have never encountered any indication that they are unsafe. Buy a reputable brand, not cheap knockoffs.

The edison base CR6 is supposed to use a loose socket.

You could try socket extenders - getting just the right length is the tricky part.
