outdoor post lighting

tracey_bApril 29, 2012

Where's a good source for outdoor post lights that are a decent price? Our HOA needs to purchase 6 posts and lights for our pool, and price will be a deal-breaker for whether or not the Board okays the expenditure of funds so we can have use of the pool area after dark.

Thanks!

"This needs to be bid through a lic. elec. contractor."

Especially around a pool.

Electricity and water do not mix well, especially when people are in the water.

Thanks. Yes, that makes sense. Luckily we have a resident who is an electrical contractor. I thought we might save him some time by locating good prices (online, wherever) for the lights instead of his usual source (where we bought some of our new house lights and where is NOT the best prices).

Wether you are aware of this or not, many HOA boards have there own credit cards and establish accounts with various vendor sources and are afforded subsequent discounts.
An avenue you might explore, and you can, or not, pay the contractor for the delivery service.

His discount may be better than any price you can find.

They are often volume based.

It's not uncommon for a contractor to bid, for a simple change out, where the existing base and bolt patten are compliant, 3x the cost of the product.
And charging additionally for demo, haul-off and disposal.
Someone needs to do some homework.
