Anybody know how many mini pendants to use per foot of island length?
I am getting a 10 foot narrow island and I am wondering whether 3 or 5 minipendants is better. Is there a rule of thumb?
It's not really the number, but the lamp type, housing and room characteristics the pendants will be in.
I am having a tough time with lighting. The total kitchen width is about 14 feet, the island is around 32 inches wide and 10 feet long. The ceiling is 8 foot. We will be having recessed can lighting and undercabinet lighting. I really like the Neirmann Weeks chandeliers for over the kitchen table, but I am stuck on what I need in the way of lighting for the center island, which will be where the majority of prep work takes place.
The kitchen will be predominantly creams and yellows, although the center island is shown below with the dark brown counter:
The minipendants I have looked at come in Xenon or LED.
1B50 GY6.35 Xenon 50w
LED module 5.8w
Will this amount of light be sufficient for my over 40 year old eyes?
