is 40 watts enough light in bath?

michoumonsterMarch 20, 2012

Hi all, There is a really nice pendant light that I like. I want to use it over a bath vanity in a small 8x5 bath. The only issue is that it is only 40 watt maximum. Would this be enough light for a bath vanity? There will also be a fluorescent recessed light in the tub area, and a small window over the toilet, so the 40 watt pendant is only to light the vanity.

40 watts of CF or LED throws a lot of lumens. Not so much for incandescent bulbs.

hi ionized, the pendant i like is 40 watts incandescent. so do you think that would not be bright enough?
unfortunately, the glass is clear, so i could not stick a cfl inside..
this is the pendant i am thinking of.. anyone know of something similar that might be brighter? thanks!!

Maybe try one of the Switch LED bulbs when they come out. (Currently vaporware, but they say they should be out in the next couple of months.)
