Which 75watt par30?

brickhouseFebruary 28, 2010

Housings and trims in - need to pick lamps now. 5" with a clear Alzak

Looking for 75watt par30.

Is frosted or clear better?

Looking at the Satco SoftRay Short neck (38 deg spread) and the USHIO 1003504 (40 deg spread) which is a frosted short neck.

Any advice or reviews?

I prefer the 120V because it emits more light on my 120V residential line current. The 130V lasts longer, but is too dim for me.

I think Ushio make some of the best halogens on the market. However, I think the Soft Ray does just as good a job eliminating glare.
