Is LR4 sufficient for my kitchen

allotropeFebruary 12, 2010

I was reading the great post on ... opinion on LED lights and would like to put some in my kitchen. I'm pretty sure that the LR6 are too big and powerful for my kitchen since it's overall 20x9 with 8' ceiling. Should I put 2 or 3 LR4's? Note that there will be 3 pendant lights in the passthrough illuminating the breakfast bar.

I also need to light the "vaulted ceiling" area close to the patio doors (pic 2). I'm thinking of a pendant light over the cafe table and two pots on the opposite side near the wall cabinets pointing toward the cabinets. Can I use the LR4 in this instance as well or are they too deep for "vaulted ceilings" (this area is 8'6" x 9 max ceiling is 10')? I'm not sure what is behind the drywall but will find out next week as I start the demolition (down to the frame).

PS Sorry for the wide pics.
