Is LED rope lighting dimmable? 3/8 or 1/2"?

gma_jFebruary 28, 2014

We want to put LED rope lighting on the ceiling of our deck. It will be cove lighting.
Is it dimmable? If so, with a regular dimmer switch?
Also, the rope is available in 3/8" or 1/2" - other than the size, are there any advantages/disadvantages to either of these sizes for what we are doing?

There are many rope lights available that are dimmable. You can also install a dimmer with remote control, which is the most convenient option for overhead lighting.

A google search will lead the way.

The 1/2" width variety can host higher output led emitters which also consume more power.
